Spotlight: Matt Gracie (One of the Make It DJ's!)
Matt Gracie will be DJing for Make It on Saturday evening from 9-11 pm!
Matt Gracie has been DJing since 1999. After working hard by hosting, promoting and DJing club and special events, Matt has been able to expand into the world of music production over the past few years. Matt’s hard work landed him Toronto residencies at nightclubs and lounges such as Footwork, LOL Lounge, Byzantium, System Soundbar, Mad-Bar, Sugar, Roxy Blu, Film Lounge, Underbar, and Dragonfly. Performances at other venues include The Guvernment, Revival, Libra Lounge, Toika Lounge, Loki Lounge, Club V and The Docks. Through corporate and special event bookings, Matt has recently had the opportunity to DJ at venues such as Roy Thompson Hall, The Boiler House, The Opera House, and Panorama in the Manulife Centre. Over the years, Matt's sets have featured house, techno, trance, electro, pop, hip-hop and R&B, but he is most well-known for his unique blend of tribal, tech-house, club anthems and pop remixes. Matt has been fortunate enough to be lined up on the same bill with international talent such as Crystal Castles, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Mark Farina, DJ Dan, Miss Honey Dijon, Cevin Fisher, Ferry Corsten, DJ Heather, Roy Davis Jr., Carlo Lio, Mark Oliver, Manzone & Strong and Deko-ze.
Matt’s ability to adapt and the diversity of his sound have opened up many new doors for this focused and energetic performer, including being given the opportunity to play on the Main Stage from 2004-2009 at one Toronto’s largest annual events, PRIDE. Matt has also volunteered his time with Oxfam Canada during the International AIDS Conference, in August 2006, and in September 2007 by assisting with planning and by performing at the fundraising series of events, Music4Change. In Spring 2009, Matt was featured as a Special Guest DJ on the very popular daytime show, CityLine on Citytv viewed by millions across Canada and online. Matt Gracie is currently working on his original music production and various remixes for electronic label 6N7 Music.
